About Lightspeed Networks: Connecting the Pacific Northwest Since 2005

Lightspeed Networks, Inc. is a fiber optic network operator headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 2005, we design, build and operate fiber infrastructure for communities across Oregon and Washington. The company was previously branded LS Networks and LSN. Today business and public sector customers are served under Lightspeed Business, and residential customers are served under Lightspeed Home.

We exist so everyone in the Pacific Northwest can stay reliably connected, thrive and serve their communities.

What Lightspeed Networks Does

We operate a carrier-grade fiber network across the Pacific Northwest. Our services include dedicated business fiber internet, business voice, Ethernet transport, wavelength services, managed IT services and infrastructure solutions built for other providers. We serve businesses, carriers, internet service providers, schools, healthcare organizations and government agencies.

Creating a Better Legacy for Tomorrow

We believe legacy connectivity options in the Pacific Northwest are substandard. Lightspeed Networks builds the fiber, capacity and support our customers need to succeed.

Where We Began

In the late 1930s and early 1940s, loan funds from the USDA Rural Electrification Administration built rural electric cooperatives across the country to serve the people and economies of rural America. The core of our fiber network runs along those same electrical grid pathways.

Lightspeed Networks was founded in 2005 by five electric cooperatives and the Coquille Tribe, to build a network for rural and underserved communities the national carriers had skipped. We are proud to be the next generation of that work.

Helping 134 Communities Thrive

Lightspeed Networks serves many communities across Oregon with high-speed connectivity and market-leading bandwidth. Our regional coverage includes:

Why a Locally Operated Provider Is Different

Our network operations center is staffed here in the Pacific Northwest. It’s not outsourced. When something breaks, the people who fix it live in the region and know the routes, and typical time to repair is under four hours. National carriers route Pacific Northwest support through national queues and prioritize metro markets. We built this network in the places those carriers skipped, and we still run it from here.
