Service Delivery Manager

Job Summary

The Service Delivery Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, reporting, budget and communication for all LS Networks service and revenue fulfillment orders. These orders can result in both the management of internal and external project team coordination.

Essential Tasks

  • Supervise directly reporting team made up of order and project managers including hire/fire/performance management responsibilities.
  • Manage and improve internal interfaces to other department stakeholders including Sales, engineering, operations, and construction.
  • Frame up project plans including resource allocation, risk, scheduling, and financial plans for all customer orders flowing through from the sales department.
  • Coordinate kick off meetings to introduce project teams to new pending orders.
  • Manage team communication with the client of each project or order, expectations for delivery, and ensure routine updates indicating progress.
  • Work to resolve barriers for the successful delivery of project objectives.
  • Manage team in producing detailed schedule of project milestones, project tasks, and project dependencies. Ensure project milestones are delivered according to client expectations.
  • Track and report on project expenditures and project schedule to ensure projects are delivered under budget and on schedule.
  • Coordination of diverse project teams made up of internal and external resources to ensure efficiency, alignment of priorities, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Travel as necessary to build team and client relationships.
  • Learn team subject matter to the extent necessary to predict barriers, reduce risk, and deliver project milestones.
  • Report on project status, project progress, and key performance indicators for each project to management.

Qualifications

  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with both clients and team members. Strive for relationships with both loyalty and accountability.
  • Ability to supervise others to create a motivating work environment with staff accountable to their responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of program and project management methodologies and how to translate that knowledge into practical implementations.
  • Ability to translate project scope into underlying component resourcing needs.
  • Ability to manage diverse team members, personality types, and work styles to bridge differences, avoid conflicts, and leverage strengths.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, and persistence are all critical skills.
  • Working knowledge of project systems and tools including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunication systems, infrastructure development and fiber optic construction, land use and environmental permitting.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, high pressure environments, and challenging customer environments.
  • Ability to analyze problems and offer creative solutions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise directly reporting team made up of order and project managers including hire/fire/performance management responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or trade school equivalent.
  • 3+ years supervising teams in complex interdepartmental arrangements
  • 5+ years of managing complex (50 person teams, 12 month project cycles) and high value (over 10 million dollar) infrastructure projects.
  • Background in telecommunication or related industry desirable
  • PMP certification is desirable.
